Warmer Weather

Well DD is back on the ground in Brisbane - her facebook message talked of heat - poor girl.......NOT!!!!! especially when it has been quite chilly here these past few days....warming up today thank goodness. We had a wonderful visit with our girl - think the best part was a family dinner at a local restaurant.....all my happy "goslings" were there with their partners......made be feel like a proud mother goose.
Life is good!

Putting It Together

Last night DD and I drove to Canmore to see Putting It Together - a Cornerstone Theatre & Restaurant production featuring Stephen Sondheim's music - what a wonderful show it was - talented performers and a nummy dinner. Thanks Joey and Jodie for a wonderful evening with my girl! Fog patches on the way home which were a bit scary.......and again on way to airport this morning........yes she leaves in a little over an hour for LA - has long layover before leaving tonight for Aussieland. Gonna miss her but she'll be back before we know it for wedding - how quickly has the time passed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Frosty Fairlyland

We woke up to more fog this morning but as it lifted - we were able to see the thick layer of frost on the trees - my DS's significant other was able to get these pictures at lunch today with her cell phone - think she may have missed her calling - great, great pictures!!!!!! - thanks Michelle for allowing me to share your works of art!

Engagement pictures and a Family Dinner

Ali & Ben had their engagement pictures taken yesterday - we picked up the DVD today - wish I could share with you but have to wait until groom sees them - he flew back to US today to finish his work. Have downloaded them all to a hard drive backup so I have copy. They are just wonderful - taken on a very snowy day in Calgary close to our old house and Ali's favorite shopping mall.
We're working on invitations - finalizing velum, etc -
Tomorrow is free day so we are looking for urns for flowers (wedding ceremony) and have to see about boxes for the giveaways. Details, details, details.
Last evening we all went to Japanese Village for dinner - Ali and Ben's birthdays are in March and it is always something she looks forward to - supper at JV -a good time was had by all - and as usual we ate far too much!!

Where has the week gone?????

Well daughter has been here exactly a week (and three hours to be exact). We have been flying around - finally found a dress for mother of the bride - didn't realize how stressed I was about finding one until I found it and bought it. Will be here in approx three months - needs slight alterations - I just love it. Totally different than what I was looking for but daughter pulled it and asked me to try it on and you know when you try something on and it just feels right - well that is how this dress was - love, love, love it.
Got the flowers mostly done - still some decisions re cake -
Ben arrived Thursday night and good news is Ben likes the venue - the four of us went to see it Friday morning - looks totally different in the winter with snow all about.
So we are getting there - think we have the invitations nailed down - all we have to do is make them.
These next six months are going to fly......

She's Here!!!!

Our daughter arrived last night at 1800 after more than 24 hours travel time - Brisbane to Melbourne to LA to Calgary - came home to pizza and bed - she slept for almost 12 hours and was up and at it by nine this am - have visited a bridesmaid and done some shopping - the whirlwind begins!

She's on her way!!!!!!!!

Just talked with Ali - she is at the airport in the airport in Brisbane. Waiting to get flight to Melbourne - then 2 hours to wait for LA flight - oh happy day!
