New Creations

Got the layout from online class I took - the snowflake is Spellbinders, the tree is a cuttlekid die I got when I first got my cuttlebug - the cuttlekid dies are no longer made and hard to come buy so really I got this when I did (about 5 years ago)! thanks for looking

Finished Cards

Each year my SIL's choir holds a silent auction - a fund raising event going to a worthy cause. The auction doesn't take place until Oct but I like to be organized and get my contribution completed and on its way to her. Have lost count how long I have been making cards for her auction - this year I made six packs - yes 36 cards in total - Done! Just waiting for date to drop off, so they can make the trip to Manitoba where SIL lives. I even remembered to take pics of most of them before packaging them.....so stay tuned....

Wedding Pics

wedding over

For those of you that don't know - our son was married on July 30 to a wonderful girl! Our daughter and her hubby were here for the wedding so it has been a very special time........however it has come to an end......son and DIL are on honeymoon and daughter and SIL are safely back in Australia. Can't believe how quickly time went and that I am back to work. Will share some pics from wedding - they decided to hold wedding at Camp Kindle which is a local camp for kids with cancer - spectacular venue - great accomodations and money ended up going to a worthy cause.
So hopefully I will be back to creating now that the business is over!

Plans gone astray

Earlier in the year I decided to try to post everyday with a card - I so enjoy visiting Lynette's blog each day, as well as Simplicity.......but the best laid plans didn't take very long to fall apart - between helping with wedding things for future DIL and committing to teaching a card class this past weekend, the posts have been few and fair between.
Class went well and am hoping to teach more - note to self - take business cards next time!
Will add pics of some of the cards they created over the next few days but here is the first.

Monday

Today is election day here in Canada - because I am attending an all day workshop, my hubby and I went last week and cast our votes - thank goodness I don't have to worry about that - know I will be tired at end of day.
Have done some creating this past week but need to scan or photograph before I can share my latest cards with you. Still using the double embossing technique - funny how it has become my new favorite - need to do a flower card for the latest challenge - started work on it last night but it needs tweaking. Hopefully later this evening I might cards scanned - often a day away provides inspiration - at least I am hoping that will happen.

Easel Card

Just scanned the front of this card - it is an easel card - and the front is double embossed (using cuttlebug embossing folder - then ranger ink and clear embossing powder) - like the end result!

Cards for class

Have decided I need to take a break - am beginning to stress out over this class - choosing which cards to make in class is proving to be a challenge - we have two hours - there is nothing worse that not having enough time to complete the cards but don't want to make them so simple that the participants are finished and looking for more..........

Border cards and a laugh!

Continuing to work on cards for the class - and have decided it would be a good thing to label my border embossing folders......how long have I had them? Let's just say.....a long time......and only now have realized I have one that is supposed to be a single row of different sized solid circles and instead it is a row of buttons......go figure! Have ordered a second set - to be given away as prize at end of class, so I should be able to see if that set is the same as mine or if it has the single row of circles.....will keep you posted!

Getting prepared for card workshop

Have been asked to teach a two hour card making class - have been struggling with class content - finally came to a decision and have spent the last two days preparing packets for participants (finished that today!!! WHOOHOOO!!!) - have to write a description of same so thought it would be much easier if I got everything ready first then will have time to spend writing without feeling pressured - am making class small (8 maximum) so I can spend time with people who need assistance - nervous but excited too.....would love to turn this into a monthly class.

Clean And Simple challenge FTL130

Another challenge on the clean and simple blog - this one took me a long while - found the patterned paper, then finding a ribbon to "match" proved a challenge, then took four attempts to stamp the sentiment - some days I should just stay out of my craft room!!!!!
