Time to Create

With winter arriving in our neck of the woods, it will be nice to stay put and create - have some Christmas cards to finish - then do some cards for my dear friends as Christmas presents. It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Rec'd a wonderful stamp from friend in Texas - had to use it to create this card for my DH's birthday this past week.

Back to Work and Creating!

Things have really, really slowed down here - back to earth with a bit of a thump - so the return to work and a routine has been good - now to get back to creating.....had a challenge on Creativecuttlebuggers for an autumn/halloween based card and a square card mingle to do for the Sept mingle. Here is what I created.....
Daughter is picking up some embossing folders in Australia for me - can hardly wait until they arrive! (Like I need more embossing folders!!!!!!)

Life Returning to "Normal"

Well the wedding is now behind us - Ali and Ben are now back in Brisbane and we've had quite an exciting month. Today picked up Ben's sister to spend day with us and dropped her off at airport tonight for her flight to Glasgow.
Had a great brunch with nephew, his girl and her family yesterday at Nakoda Lodge - great food - amazing spot - too bad the weather did not cooperate - poured buckets most of day.
So back to work later in week - think I am ready for a routine of sorts - have done a bit of card making - will share in a bit.
A fellow crafter card maker lost her battle with cancer this past Saturday - she will be missed. Her passing puts everything in perspective - I am so fortunate to have such a wonderful life!!!!!!

Thought I would share some wedding pics of my DD's wedding with you - day turned from overcast and cold to warm with sunny periods - perfect weather!

Bridal Shower

Had a great time at the bridal shower Corinne and Krista had for Ali. Was lovely to see all of Ali's friends - they gave her an 8x8 scrapbook with each person supplying a page......a great keepsake.
Next a family dinner with the Powells and the Downeys - our house tomorrow afternoon. Stay tuned for pics.

Arrived Safe and Sound

Ali and Ben arrived last Monday and wedding plans are in full swing!!!! Lots of details - all we really need is a lovely day - not too hot with no rain - even if it holds off until after dinner - that would be great (?not too much to ask for?)

DD and future SIL arrive on Monday - then the whirlwind will start - so looking forward to having them come!

Reorganization Continues!!!

Was able to get these two paper shelving units when a scrap store went out of business - was at retreat when I bought them - you should have seen my car on the trip home - hardly had any place to sit.
Thought I would share how I store my "stuff" - not the neatest but at least I am able to see most things - in my world, out of site, out of mind.......so having things visible works best for me - a tall wooden shelving unit - cast off from daughter's room with extra shelves added by DH - a clip-it-up for my clear and cling mounted stamps - a cork bulletin board from local Walmart with sticky backed magnetic pages stuck to it - holds all my nesties - it looks cluttered but works for me!

Reorganization!

Was lucky enough to find a "shelving unit" at the hospital that was being discarded - DH cut it in half so each unit is approx 6" deep - four high and seven long - makes for great storage - thought I would share pics - excuse my messy crafting table - sure do like these units!!!!

Having a Wonderful Birthday!

Received a gift certificate from DS and his SO - red roses from my hubby and a bouquet of pink flowers from my DD - a wonderful day ending with order in chinese dinner - how lucky am I? And birthday cards arrived from on line friends.... Here are some pics

Have you noticed how things have slowed down on the internet card making groups? Think everyone is so glad to have spring/summer finally arrive - they are spending every minute they can outdooors.
How about you? Are you able to create or are you spending the daylight hours out of doors in the garden and nice weather?

Well the wedding invitations went into the mail yesterday morning.....Had a bit of a moment as I was addressing the envelopes.....suddenly it is becoming very real and much closer!
Finally got my act together and made my cards for the CCE June exchange - also rec'd a lovely card from Julie B who lives in Spruce Grove - wonder if she has much snow as we do - about 6" and it is still coming down! The scan does not do the card justice - it is pink with a sparkly background - beautiful!!!!!!Thanks so much Julie - you made my week!

Back from Las Vegas

Was in Las Vegas for wedding - daughter of UK friend - We had such a good time!- even had a visit from Elvis and he sang Hawaiian wedding song and I ended up in tears - yes dating myself I know but I do love that song........ And another highlight was finding the Viva Las Vegas stamp store my first day there - yes I dropped some money - and got some wonderful stamps. What a store - if ever you get a chance - it is so worth the trip. My DH & DS love horses - so thought this stamp would come in very handy at my house.
Made some exchange cards and Rec'd two card from the CanadianCardExchange group for the month of May - thanks Sue and Irene!
